ICT Kill Zone time converter
The Asian, London, New York AM and London Close Kill Zones, converted from New York time to yours for any date — daylight saving included.
The Kill Zones in New York time
ICT defines the Kill Zones in New York local time — Eastern Time, which is UTC−5 in winter and UTC−4 in summer. The converter uses these windows:
- Asian Kill Zone — 20:00 to 00:00 New York time, the evening before the trading day.
- London Kill Zone — 02:00 to 05:00 New York time.
- New York AM Kill Zone — 07:00 to 10:00 New York time.
- London Close Kill Zone — 10:00 to 12:00 New York time.
Because they are anchored to New York, the windows move in UTC when America changes its clocks, and they move in your local time whenever your clocks and New York's are not in step.
Why daylight saving makes this tricky
The United States moves to summer time on the second Sunday of March and back on the first Sunday of November. Europe changes on the last Sundays of March and October. For two or three weeks each spring and one week each autumn the gap between London and New York is four hours instead of five, and the gap to Kyiv, Berlin or Warsaw changes with it. Many countries in Asia and Africa do not change their clocks at all, and in the southern hemisphere summer time runs the other way. The converter does not keep its own table: it asks your browser's time zone database what New York's offset is on the date you pick, so every one of these cases comes out right.
How the LSG Club journal tags Kill Zones
The LSG Club trading journal tags trades with fixed UTC windows all year: Asian 00:00–02:00, London 05:00–08:00 and New York 12:00–15:00 UTC. Fixed windows keep statistics comparable across the clock changes — a London trade in January and one in July land in the same bucket — while the site shows them in your own time zone. They overlap ICT's New York-time windows for most of the year, but not exactly, so use this converter when you plan by ICT's definitions and the journal's windows when you compare results.
Using the converter
Pick a date and a time zone — your browser's zone is selected by default. The table shows each Kill Zone's start and end in that zone, with a marker when it falls on the previous or next day, and the current status if the date is today. More on trading these windows in the Kill Zone trading guide.
Frequently asked questions
What time is the London Kill Zone in UTC?
02:00–05:00 New York time is 07:00–10:00 UTC in winter and 06:00–09:00 UTC during US summer time. Pick a date in the converter and choose UTC to see the exact window.
Is the Asian Kill Zone on the same day?
It runs from 20:00 to midnight New York time on the evening before the trading day, so in Europe and Asia it often falls after midnight local time. The converter marks the day shift.
Do Kill Zones apply on weekends?
No. They describe the forex trading week; the Asian Kill Zone on Sunday evening New York time opens the week, and Friday's London Close is the last one.
Why does the journal use UTC windows?
So statistics do not shift with daylight saving. The site and the Telegram bot show the UTC windows in your own time zone.
