The kiwi's day on a New York clock: the club's AI digest once the session opens, the Kill Zones on your clock and Wellington's release times.

Today's session context for NZDUSD, updated every day: the public session digest from the club's AI after the session has opened, today's Kill Zones in New York time and in your time zone, and the high-impact New Zealand and US dollar news from the Forex Factory calendar. The permanent part explains the kiwi's unusual timetable — the first market of the week, with its main data released near the end of the New York day — and what drives it. The kiwi's timetable

Wellington is the first major financial centre to start the week: when the FX market opens on Sunday at 17:00 New York, it is already Monday morning there. New Zealand is 16 to 18 hours ahead of New York, depending on daylight saving in each country. Two things follow. The Reserve Bank of New Zealand announces at 14:00 Wellington — between 20:00 and 22:00 New York, inside the Asian Kill Zone. And Statistics New Zealand publishes its main quarterly figures at 10:45 Wellington, 16:45 to 18:45 New York — right around the 17:00 daily rollover, when liquidity is thinnest.

Releases to watch

  • RBNZ rate decision — 14:00 Wellington; seven decisions a year in 2026, eight from 2027.
  • Quarterly CPI and labour-market data — 10:45 Wellington.
  • Global Dairy Trade auctions — twice a month; not on the calendar, but dairy is New Zealand's largest export.
  • US CPI and the jobs report at 08:30 New York, the FOMC at 14:00 New York.

What drives NZDUSD

New Zealand's economy is small and open, and dairy is its biggest export earner, so world dairy prices and demand from China — its largest trading partner — matter for the currency. Like the Australian dollar, the kiwi tends to track global risk sentiment, and over longer stretches it follows the difference between RBNZ and Fed rates. Liquidity is lower than in the major pairs, so spreads widen more at the rollover and around news. These are background facts, not a forecast.

Approaching NZDUSD sessions

ICT traders usually read NZDUSD alongside AUDUSD: the two currencies answer to similar forces, so when one makes a new high or low and the other refuses, that divergence is worth a note. The Asian Kill Zone holds the RBNZ and much of the kiwi's own flow, the London Kill Zone often sweeps the Asian range, and the New York AM Kill Zone brings the dollar's news. Many avoid the rollover hour altogether. The article on the best forex pairs for ICT discusses when a smaller pair is worth the wider spread. Frequently asked questions

What time is the RBNZ decision in New York time?

14:00 Wellington, which is between 20:00 and 22:00 New York depending on daylight saving: 20:00 in the New York winter, 22:00 in the New York summer and 21:00 in the weeks in between.

Why is NZDUSD quiet around 17:00 New York?

That is the daily FX rollover, when the value date changes and many banks reprice. Liquidity is thin and spreads widen for a while — and New Zealand's quarterly data can land in the same hour.

Does the club AI publish NZDUSD levels here?

No. Only the public session text — the plan's headline and summary — appears here, after the session has opened. It is the club's AI reading of the chart, not a signal.
