New York AM session · no clear bias · written 2026-10-30 10:34 UTC

H4 and H1 rise, but D1 falls and price is in the upper half of the range.

This is a short-term bullish expansion against the broader D1 decline.

The EURUSD trading week

Currencies trade 24 hours a day, five days a week: the week opens on Sunday at 17:00 New York and closes on Friday at 17:00 New York, and 17:00 is also when each trading day rolls into the next. EURUSD is the most traded currency pair in the world, so spreads are usually tight. Two fixed daily events matter more than many traders realise: the 10:00 New York options cut, when a large share of FX options expire, and the 4 pm London fix (WM/Reuters), a benchmark rate set at 16:00 London — usually 11:00 New York, or 12:00 in the weeks when the UK and US clocks are out of step.

Euro and dollar news

  • ECB decision — 14:15 Frankfurt (08:15 New York), press conference at 14:45 (08:45).
  • Euro-area flash inflation — 11:00 Frankfurt (05:00 New York).
  • US CPI and the jobs report — 08:30 New York; the jobs report usually on the first Friday of the month.
  • FOMC statement — 14:00 New York, press conference at 14:30.

On ECB days the decision comes at 08:15 New York, a quarter of an hour before the US data — two sources of volatility inside one Kill Zone.

What moves EURUSD

At its core EURUSD reflects the gap between what money earns in the euro area and in the United States, so expectations for ECB and Fed policy — and the spread between German and US government bond yields — explain much of its trend. Relative growth, inflation surprises and risk sentiment add to that: in stressed markets the dollar often attracts safe-haven demand. Because both sides are major economies, either currency can be the one moving on a given day, so check whose news is on the calendar before reading the chart.

EURUSD and ICT

EURUSD is one of the pairs ICT used most in his teaching, and the classic session template fits it well: the Asian Kill Zone builds a narrow range, the London Kill Zone often takes one side of it, and the New York AM Kill Zone either continues the London move or reverses it. Many traders compare EURUSD with GBPUSD for divergence and start each day with a daily bias. The forex session times guide covers the sessions in more depth, and the Kill Zone converter shows them on your clock. On a USD account one pip on one lot is worth $10; the EURUSD position size calculator turns your stop into lots.

Frequently asked questions

What time does EURUSD trading start each week?

Sunday at 17:00 New York time, when it is already Monday morning in Wellington and Sydney. The week ends on Friday at 17:00 New York.

What is the 4 pm London fix?

A benchmark exchange rate calculated around 16:00 London time that funds and companies use to value and rebalance positions. Large orders executed for the fix can move EURUSD in the minutes around it.

Does the club AI publish EURUSD levels here?

No. The page shows only the public session text — the plan's headline and summary — after the session has opened. It is not a signal and contains no levels.
